Festivus For The Rest Of Us

Last night, Laura and I hosted a Festivus Party. Seinfeld fans are probably familiar with the "holiday" that Frank Costanza supposedly invented after an ugly incident when buying a Christmas gift (a doll) for George.

I was worried that we wouldn't have a good turnout because of forcasted snow. It only rained, and we had about 15 or 20 people. It was a lot of fun. There was a lot of food. Grievances were aired. Now I want to 1) Be better about getting my camera out, 2) Get a camera that takes better pictures, and 3) Have friends over more often.

Dave and Kate posing with the baby beers I purchased on accident. No wonder they were so cheap!

Monique talking while George is distracted by troll hair. Hmmm. Also pictured is the Festivus Pole. It is made of aluminum and has a high strength to weight ratio.

An unflattering shot of two pretty girls in person, Kate and Laura. Joe hides behind Laura as usual.

Viva Las Vegas

Most of the better photos are on Kate's camera. I look forward to her finding the cable that connects it to her computer.

This top will be recycled next Halloween.

Sometimes I feel like Brian is our babysitter.

Stylish Alternative Whites

Last week in Las Vegas my co-residents and I enjoyed a nice meal at a steak house in the Paris casino. On of the sections of the wine menu was entitled Stylish Alternative Whites. "I like to think of myself as a stylish alternative white," I mused. Dinner was as delicious as it was expensive. Unfortunately for Laura, she got food poisoned from it. Overall, I enjoyed spending time with new "colleagues" (Kate has made it clear that we are not friends ;) ) and catching up with old friends. It was wonderfully exhausting.
